The GFFC

The Global Feed & Food Congress (GFFC) series was launched in 2005 by the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to provide a global platform for scientists, industry, governments, civil society and intergovernmental organizations to come together to discuss critical issues of food and feed safety, technology, innovation and sustainability. The tri-annual Congress has established itself as the leading global event of its kind and was last held in Sun City, South Africa in 2013.

The 5th Global Feed & Food Congress (GFFC) will be held in Antalya, Turkey, on 18-20 April 2016 and is organized by IFIF in cooperation with the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC) and hosted by the Turkish Feed Manufacturers’ Association (TURKIYEM BIR), with technical support provided by the FAO.

The theme for the 5th GFFC is ‘Equity and Prosperity for All’ and links to the global challenge to feed 9 billion people by 2050 and to do so sustainably, affordably and safely. This theme reflects the aspiration of the future we want and IFIF’s view on Sustainability matches this aspiration: ‘produce more, using less, at an affordable cost to the consumer.’

The 5th GFFC is expected to attract over 1200 delegates from Turkey and from around the world and will feature exceptional speakers who will provide their insights and expertise in roundtables, plenaries and workshops. The sessions at the 5th GFFC will cover the whole feed manufacturing and food processing value chain, with a special focus on:

  • Sustainability
  • Markets & Trade
  • Integrity / Feed & Food Safety
  • Regulations & Standards
  • Animal Nutrition
  • Innovation and R&D
