Sustainable Aquaculture in Turkey - A success story
RESUME
Born in 1960 in Alanya, Turkey, Hasan Girenes graduated Ege University Agricultural Engineering and has a master’s degree in Fisheries. He has started working for Yaşar Group in her compound feed company as Production Engineer in 1985. Subsequently he has held the positions of Technical Manager, Managing Director of Çamlı Yem Besicilik (merger company of four companies: Çamlı Yem (compound feed), Çamlı Besicilik (livestock), Çamlı Damızlık (turkey breeding) and Pınar Deniz (fish farming). Mr. Girenes currently serves Yasar Group as the Vice President - Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. He is also actively involved in civil organizations serving as the Chairman of İzmir Seafood Farmers and Producers Association and he is also an Assembly Member of Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO).
